FAQs
PIQLBALL JAMS
ποΈ How much does it cost to book a spot at the Sussex PIQLBALL JAM?
Tickets are Β£35 per person and include 6 hours of organised play, access to courts, formats, and festival activities.
π Do I need to bring a partner?
No partner needed! You can enter solo, and weβll match you into games, pools, or brackets based on your own determined level of ability.
If youβre coming with friends, youβll still get plenty of games against new players too and if you have a regular playing partner who you need some dedicated practice time with for an upcoming event or just because you want to play together that’s cool too.
π₯ Whatβs the format of play?
Weβre running a mix of:
Standard-format matchplay (short games, rotating opponents)
Festival-style BOX LEAGUES (a group of 5 or 6 players of a similar level put together to play with and against each other)
Challengers (Winners stay on – challenge the winners)
- TastersΒ (If you’re new to Pickleball, come and Give it a Go)
- Clinics (Coaching clinics from a qualified Pickleball Coach)
β° What time do I need to arrive?
It depends on how much play you want to get throughout the day. Doors open from 10:00 am, and last games at 15:40. So arrive when you want and leave when you’ve had enough.Β
β±οΈ How long do I need to stay?
Thatβs up to you! The full festival runs from 10:00am to 4:00pm, and your ticket covers the whole day.
Come for the duration to enjoy the full schedule of play and atmosphere, or when you’ve had enough, no issues, head home.
π©βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Who can take part?
Players of all levels (beginner through advanced) are welcome. The festival is level-friendly, meaning youβll be grouped into brackets that give you the right balance of challenge and fun.
π Is it a competition or just for fun?
Both! Expect a lively, festival vibe with social play, but also plenty of competitive, fast-paced matches. Itβs a great way to test yourself, meet new players, and enjoy a high-energy day on court.
π’ How does it work?
At PIQLBALL JAM weβre keeping things fast, fair, and fun β everyone gets loads of matches at the right level. Hereβs how it works:
1οΈβ£ Pick Your Level
When you arrive, decide which skill level feels right for you:
π’ Green = Beginner (DUPR 2.0 β 2.5)
π‘ Yellow = Improving Beginner (2.5 β 3.0)
π Orange = Low Intermediate (3.0 β 3.5)
π£ Purple = High Intermediate (3.5 β 4.0)
π΄ Red = Advanced (4.0+)
Take a magnet in your colour and write your name on it with the pen provided.
2οΈβ£ Get on the Board
Head to the match board and stick your magnet up. Once 4 players of the same colour/level are on the board, thatβs your next game sorted.
3οΈβ£ Time to Play
When your group is called, head to the court for a standard format Pickleball match:
First to 11 points
Win by 1
4οΈβ£ After the Game
When your match finishes, return to the desk:
Want a break? Hold onto your magnet and rest up.
Ready for more? Pop your magnet straight back on the board to get into the next rotation.
